My Journey Into Don’t Starve! The adventure of Wendy and her dead twin sister! Let the Night Begin!!!

1

Alright! So I’m a huge fan of Don’t Starve and I wanted to create a blog post about my game play and progression concerning one of my characters. So! I decided to make one here! I started a new game and will do my very best to keep playing of couple hours every once in a while. I chose Wendy because she is extremely strong with her twin sister and yeah! I also like her creepiness hehehe.

So I started the game and I had a bit of a rough start. I found a checkered place with all these robotic horses. They weren’t too strong but they got my life down to 5 health. I was bugging out. It wasn’t even day 3 yet and I’m about to die?! No way… So I retreated north of that area to gather myself and prepare. BUT! When night time came, all these freaking… I don’t know, fish people? Came out of nowhere and started to attack me! I almost died a second time on the second freaking day…arg!!

ANYWAY! Good news was that I was able to get away, got my twin sister out, and she killed all those damn fish bastards. Now here’s the cool thing. Once day time hit, all the robotic horses died and I was able to get all of their loot! The fish people fought off the horse dudes and then my twin sister’s ghost killed the fish dudes! And for some reason, there were pig men loot all over too! It was like winning the lottery! On the second or third day, I found all these amazing items that I could use to build my base and equipment! Not to mention I found a premade camp! Yeah! It had three basic farms, some basic materials, and some tools! This had to be a sign, so I decided to build my base here. After I cleaned the place up a bit and got more materials, I waited until day time and traveled east where I found 5 spider hives. My twin sister easily killed them all and I got massive silk and healing sacs, which was great. To sum it all up, during the first couple of days, I got the foundation for my base down and obtained plenty of food, tools, weapons, gear and material to make more stuff. Not a bad find for the first couple days. =)

Oh, I also got my hat, woot woot! So next run, I plan to gather more basic materials, find some manure for my farm, and then maybe see what else I could explore. Until then! Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Don’t Starve…TOGETHER!

dontstarvetitle

Don’t Starve is one of my personal favorite games. It is absolutely enjoyable and extremely challenging. It has this Tim Burton/creepy, yet not so terrifying feel to the game where it’s sort of gloomy yet still very exciting. It’s like watching an old horror movie. You know those black and white ones. But this time, the movie is revamped and digitally enhanced. If you know anything about Don’t Starve, you know that one of the scariest aspects of this game is the solo feel of it. The fact that you are alone and no one is there to help you makes the game more challenging, and let’s be honest, more frightening. HOWEVER there is an official announcement on a new multiplayer mod that is supposed to come out in the summer of 2014. Don’t Stare Together is a new and exciting addition to the game. Now there has been a lot of talk whether or not this is good or bad. Some say it goes against everything Klei stands for, while others say this is going to make the game so much better. Who’s to say one is right and the other is wrong? Me personally I think it is all about how you approach this mulitplayer mod. It’s uncertain whether it’s going to be like an online lobby style where you can join other peoples games, or if it’s going to be like Diablo 3 where you have get invited by a friend or join a previously approved friend’s game. Either way the fact that you can play with other people is something I personally am excited for. It’s always more fun when you have other people to mess around with.

Now some information about this mod. It is set to be released during the summer of 2014 (specific release date is still unknown). The pricing for this mod is free for those who previously own the game before the mod comes out. Once the mod comes out, the game with the mod included will go up in price from 15 USD to 20 USD. Klei said that they aim to have about 2-4 per game for the multiplayer, however, that isn’t finalized. Of course there will still be a single player for those who do not want to play in the multiplayer mode. And that’s about it! That is all the information I am able to receive at the moment, but once I get more I will keep you guys updated! In the meantime here is a link for their forum on the topic. If this is a topic that seriously concerns you why not get involved. Speak your voice. Who knows? Maybe it’ll influence the company to do certain things, take certain actions. You never know.

My Journey Into Smite! First Battle….Damn I suck.

maxresdefault

Soooo I just finished playing my first Smite game and boyyyyy do I…Suck… I mean damn! It was a 3v3 Bot game and I still ended up going negative (more deaths than kills) in this game. The game is just so difficult to play, but then again I guess most games are quite difficult when you first play them. So! this is what happened. I had no idea what any of these “gods” did so I just chose a random one. I got Bakasura, The Great Devourer. Oh! and I personally think that it’s really cool that you get to play as different types of gods. I personally love how they portrayed the gods. It’s really cool, but any who! The game started off pretty simple. I forgot to get items, I didn’t get skills, and when I finally did I ended up not knowing how to use any of them nor had a clue what they did. It was a great start. Not to mention, I got first blood! I mean, I was first blood… I didn’t get it… It was me… to a bot…(frown). Aside from all that I finally started to understand how this guy worked. He was cool! He jumps around and eats minions and his final skill is that he throws up all the minions he ate. If the minions hits someone (or something like that, I don’t really know). you somehow spawn copies of yourself… I don’t know. Either way, he was fun to play, I just had no idea how to play him. I think this was a good start for me. Now I know what to avoid and what not to mess up on again.

Forgive me for the lack of pictures. I don’t know how to screenshot while in game at the moment. But I promise you, there was nothing worth saving…

Oh! One other thing. Apparently, there are two active items (which are items that act as a skill) that you can have and I didn’t buy my second one until the end of the game… So.. fail on me.

ANY WAY! Thanks for reading and checking out Indie-vidual Gamers. Hope you enjoyed my fail and see you soon!

UPDATE

Lies, I found one of the pictures I saved. Woot!

New Upcoming : Black Desert – Day and Night system!!!????

I recently watched a video on the top ten most anticipated free to play MMORPGs that are coming out for the United States. I’m not sure if I’m late on this, but I saw this one game called Black Desert and it looks absolutely amazing. Aside from its stunning graphics, click and point combat system, and endless customization, it has a customized housing system that you can store, rest, and design yourself. Which I love by the way! HOWEVER! Not only does it have all these amazing features but it will also have a Day and Night system where every few hours the days cycle through! This means sometimes it will be day and other times it will be night. I have never played any MMORPG that has this feature and I am extremely excited for it!

I’m fan girl-ing to the extreme over this game. I mean, just look at the graphics on this!

The visuals alone are just breathtaking! But anyway, back to where i left off. This world runs on a day and night system. Every few hours of real time, the time in-game will slowly turn from day to night. It isn’t just some quick clip cut from day to night. It has dawn, dusk, etc. The progression is real. And the cool thing is that the NPCs react to this day and night system. During the night time, the NPC civilians will travel back into their homes and actually sleep. In addition to this, quests and other NPC will be available during the night time. It is going to be very exciting to see where this leads. I love companies and gamers who try something new.

I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated on this game. I’ll keep an eye out for new updates and some additional features that it will be running, in the meantime let us know what you think about this day and night system! What additional features about this game are you guys excited about?

Leave a comment on what you think about this new system. Think it’ll work? Won’t work? Why not? Share!!!

Thanks for reading! And if you enjoyed this post, make sure to follow! I’ll do my best to keep you guys updated on daily games!

Can you survive the Night?

Cover Logo

Greetings my fellow gamers! I recently had the chance to play this wonderful, yet extremely difficult game, called 7 Days to Die. This game is ridiculously fun! It captures the essence of survival horror games and the creative building freedom of Minecraft. If you enjoy crafting games and hordes of zombies this game might be up your ally.

7 Days to Die is still in it’s alpha stage but can be purchased and played through either Steam or their website (https://7daystodie.com/buy/). This game was developed and created by a group of dedicated programmers called The Fun Pimps.

Now a quick, brief introduction about this game. When you spawn, you have nothing. You have an inventory with no items, (or sometimes some items depending on the host). From there you must survive. The entire area had been taken over by zombies and nothing is stopping them from eating the flesh right off your face. Nothing except your wits. You, as the survivor, must travel and explore the unknown areas gathering materials and resources in order to build tools, weapons, and additional materials to find or build a base in order to survive the night.

Desert Zombie Horde

You want to build your base and gather your resources before night time because once that sun goes down the zombies become more dangerous! The night is not your friend. Matter of fact once night time hits if you aren’t ready you pretty much don’t have a chance.

The concept of this game is very simple. Gather materials, build tools and weapons, find a base to fortify, defend that base, and do your best to survive the night, all while eating and drinking enough food and water. That’s correct! This game has a hunger and thirst meter that have positive and negative effects on your character. The approach of this concept is what makes this game amazingly fun and exciting. You find random items in cars, abandoned homes, farms, office buildings, and dead bodies. Almost everywhere! This game has it covered. You can break down houses for wood in order to reinforce another house, board up windows and build escape ways just in case. The way you survive is truly up to you and your creativity.

Now I personally love this game. It is very young and has a lot of bugs, but the amount of potential this game has is endless. The zombies are terrifying, especially at night, and the building/crafting aspect is extremely easy and fun. The game starts with nothing,  (you have nothing in your inventory) and the game doesn’t help you at all. No explanation of what does what and where to even get the materials, but that’s the fun of it. You feel lost, just as you should if you were in that situation in real life. Finding materials isn’t too difficult and once you get the right tools, you’ll have no problems finding weapons to defend yourself. The beauty of this game is that it is a process. The whole game is about the process of preparing for the night, gathering food, making sure you have enough water, setting up traps around the house, etc. It’s a long process that you will obsess about over and over again. After you survive the first night you’ll look back and realize, “Shit, I need to find a new place”, and the whole process starts over again. The whole concept of food and water is also extremely fun. It’s fine to find a building, reinforce it, and kill all the zombies but food is scarce. It’s the food and water that forces you to go outside, travel, and explore for more materials. You can’t stay in one spot for very long and for that reason, the game requires you to move around a lot.

The crafting is very simple and similar to Minecraft. You find the materials, place it in the right spot, and if it is correct, you’ll be able to create that item. The game gives you the basic blueprints for some craftable items. You can learn how to craft more items as you progress through the game and find more blueprints. And if you’re worried about the combat, all I can say is that it isn’t to bad. The combat does have some work ahead of itself. Although the melee weapons do swing in a similar pattern as Minecraft. The range weapons does feel like a true FPS, not some blocky line that shakes every time you shoot it. You will feel each bullet leaving the barrel along with the desperation each bullet has, hoping it hits something.

Gun Point

One additional thing  that I really enjoy about this game are the zombies. They are very simple in the sense that there isn’t much animation to them but they are still terrifying when you have to fight them. The reason is because when they swarm they really swarm. You do not want to be caught off guard. They will run you down just as quickly as zombies in other horde zombie games.

The environment of this game is also well done. The noises these zombies make can be heard even when you don’t see any zombies around, giving you that feeling that you never really are safe.

Overall 7 Days to Die is a great game for multiplayer game and a well made survival game. It’s still in the alpha stage and has a lot of work ahead of it but the future is very bright for this game.

Let me know what you guys think about this game! I know I covered the basics but there are still a lot of features that I wasn’t able to cover. Comment and don’t forget to follow if you enjoyed this review! Speak your mind and let your voice be heard. Let us know if you enjoyed this game or not and tell us why!
